April is National Gardening Month! What is your favorite thing to grow? Are you veteran gardener, or just getting started? If you’re new to the gardening scene, we have some helpful tips for you:
- Plan your garden. Put together a portfolio of plants that you would like to grow. Are you looking to put together a raised bed garden, or maybe you want to do something even bigger and transform part of your yard into a farm-fresh garden?
- Make sure you have the right tools. If you need a rain barrel, we still have some available at the low cost of $55! You’ll also need a shovel, garden rake, and a spade (check out a more comprehensive list here).
- Plant seeds that will grow well in your region. This will involve some research, but necessary to have a fruitful garden. Here’s a list of plants that grow well in Virginia, along with a handy guide of when to plant them.
